Life XP Privacy Policy

LIFE XP turns your real-life goals into quests. This policy explains what the app collects, why, who helps us process it, and how to delete it.
What we collect
- Account information: your email address and a user ID. If you sign in with Apple or Google, that provider shares your email (Apple may share a private relay address) and, if you allow it, your name.
- Your character and quests: your character name, quests, objectives, XP, attributes, skills, activity history, and the messages you send to the LIFE XP Guide.
- Usage counts: how many Guide requests you make each day, to enforce a fair-use limit.
We don't collect your location, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers, or browsing activity. We don't sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps and websites.
Voice
When you use the microphone, your speech is turned into text on your iPhone. Audio is never uploaded. Only the resulting text is handled like a typed message.
How the Guide uses AI
When you send a message to the Guide, the text of your message and a summary of your open quests are sent through our server to Google's Gemini API, which generates the quest updates and replies. Google processes this data to provide the service under its Gemini API terms for paid services. If you're offline, the app may use Apple's on-device model instead, in which case nothing leaves your phone.
Who processes your data
- Supabase: hosts our database and sign-in, and stores your account and quest data.
- Google (Gemini API): processes Guide messages to generate responses.
- Apple and Google sign-in: authenticate you, if you choose those options.
How we use your data
Only to run the app: to keep your character, quests and history, to generate Guide responses, to keep your account secure, and to prevent abuse. We don't use it for advertising.
Retention and deletion
Your data is kept while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account and all associated data from our database. You can also email us to request deletion.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections. Our database uses row-level security, so each account can only access its own data. Our AI API keys are kept on our server, never in the app.
Children
LIFE XP is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
